The choices are endless: You can choose from the award winning 2AA rosette menu's that we have devised or alternatively have your own twist on the menu by discussing ideas with our delightful Head Chef Chris Moore.

A tasty little something: We offer an extensive wine list, so there is something for everyone, from a nice zesty Sauvignon Blanc to a rich and bountiful Merlot.

Comfort comes first: Although we have sixteen bedrooms to offer within the estate, thirteen of the rooms are within the house and there is plenty to choose from. For example there is our cottage feel Albertine Room, our four poster beds in 'His' Lordships and 'Her' Ladyships, the 8ft bed in Peacock and so much more. All the bedrooms offer to utmost luxury with Egyptian Cotton Sheets, goose-down feather bed linen. The bathrooms are equipped with monsoon showers and some with free standing deep set baths. All the bathrooms offer cosy dressing gowns, fluffy slippers and towels with a little treat of being supplied with Molton Brown Toiletries. Tales from the Walled Garden - May

Spring at Newick Park Hotel,

My name is Whitney Hedges and I am the new Head Gardener here at Newick Park Hotel & Country Estate, having taken on the post in January, Although the gardens and grounds are steeped in history, everything here is still very new to me, with everyday bringing new discoveries as trees begin to break bud and flowers bust into full bloom.

We are gradually transforming the fruit and vegetable beds in the walled garden and have already begun to harvesting our first baby turnips and little gem lettuces. The chef and I are also working together in trialling many new micro herbs, these little treasures are packed full of intense flavours.

   The overall plan for walled garden is in transition as my first task is to establish an aesthetically pleasing formal layout. The next step is to create a pictorial annual flowering meadow along the alley of apple trees as you first enter the garden.  We have also been propagating Nepeta racemosa (catmint) in order to create a beautiful bee friendly hedge that will encircle the herb garden.

  At present we are starting almost all of our vegetables and cut flowers from seed inside the polytunnel, which is currently full to bursting. Our team of gardeners and myself have been working tirelessly to complete the garden beds in order to transplant all these young plants outside.

Our first blog ..... well this is exciting.

We hope that you will find something of interest in these blogs as it grows with information, stories etc. We look forward to speaking to the chef for some recipe ideas as well as the gardeners for their input and advise as to how they keep the plants and walled garden looking great throughout the year.

We also will keep you up to date with special offers and events for 2012 and beyond.
